MUN’s First Conference!

On February 6th, 2025, my first Model United States was marked.
The conference was HAMUN 50, and I was in the UNICEF community working on protecting children’s need for equality in education and protecting them in front of the potential risks named advertisements.
Before this MUN experience, I had a mock conference at my school and prep days every specific day of the week. However, it was not as fun as I thought at the real conference! The conference was really fun—more than what I expected it to be.
I was first afraid of speaking in Model United Nations because at the mock conference when I practiced the MUN, everything, every event, and every piece of information was passing so fast that I even could not understand what the delegates were saying. Furthermore, at that time, I was also a newbie in MUN. So, it really drew me back to freely express the information that I researched.
Nevertheless, for this conference, I was not really pressured to speak and be a spotlight in the conference and just enjoyed and kept up with the atmosphere. I enjoyed it and was not scared or shy because I was motivated by my MUN teacher that we would never meet the people at the conference anymore, so just be yourself and try your best!
At first, going to the committee room. It was a bit stressful and heavy on my heart. However, when the committee started. The line just continued to pass as everyone was fighting for the spot to talk. Same as me, raised hard to get the chance. Being pulled into the atmosphere made me no longer scared, and I was free to give my speeches.
After the conference, I made many friends and had many experiences researching, making speeches, and the use of my language. From then, I noticed that my use of language is really improved!
