A psychology assignment that help me understand my identity more
In my AP Psychology unit on identity, we had an assignment where each student created a collage to show who we are. It included things like our culture, family, friends, interests, hobbies, major life experiences, and skills. At first, it sounded like a simple project, but once I started working on it, I realized it was actually more meaningful than I expected.
I was really excited about this assignment because it made me think about parts of my life that I usually don’t stop to reflect on. As I put the collage together, I noticed how proud I am of my culture. Being Vietnamese is an important part of who I am, and I love sharing my culture through traditional dance and wearing áo dài, which always makes me feel confident and connected to my roots. I also realized how much I value my family and close relationships, as well as how big a role music and band play in my life. Band gives me a sense of belonging, and music is something that helps me express myself.
Traveling is another important part of my identity because it allows me to experience new places and perspectives. Overall, this project helped me understand myself better and appreciate how all these different parts come together to shape who I am.
