TPSMEA Band Competition

On Friday, April 10th, 2026, our Village School trumpet trio competed in the TPSMEA contest at St. Thomas High School in Houston, performing Prince of Denmark. Although we had practiced the piece beforehand, our preparation was not as strong as it should have been. On the morning of the competition, our band director, Mrs. Hunt, gave us an opportunity to perform once more in the carpool area, which helped us gain some last-minute confidence.

During the performance, we were very nervous. At one point, our third trumpet player made a mistake in rhythm, which caused the piece to become slightly disorganized. However, instead of stopping, we quickly adjusted and continued playing together until the end. In the end, we received a rating of 2, where 1 is the highest and 5 is the lowest.
